The Boundaries Workbook

The Boundaries Workbook
This guide, which began as a ten-page takeaway post-workshop, has evolved into a 100+ page workbook that covers the topic of Boundaries from an array of potential angles.
Attempting to navigate life without boundaries is like attempting to bake muffins without flour. A frustrating, deflating, messy endeavour.
Even as I write this I realize there likely is some newfangled healthy way to make muffins without flour, but this isn’t Goop and I trust the point still stands.
Despite not being much of a baker, I opted for the muffin analogy because I made it to thirty before I realized my life was lacking in boundaries, and that realization was as dismaying as making it home from the grocery store and realizing you’ve forgotten the one ingredient you really needed.
What are boundaries and why are they such a necessary component?
Defined, personal boundaries are guidelines, limits or expectations that a person creates to identify acceptable, safe and permissible ways for other people to behave towards them and how they will respond when someone encroaches upon or crosses the line.
Simplified? Boundaries draw the line between what’s okay and what’s not.
Once established, boundaries strengthen relationships. They foster self-trust. They’re self-advocacy in action. They keep you out of resentment and in your integrity and, as a result, can’t be compromised. They’re your non-negotiables and, depending on the circumstances, can be your deal-breakers.
Despite how essential they are in creating the kind of life you want to live, the vast majority of us were not taught this fundamental skill in our formative years.
This workbook, which began as a ten-page takeaway post-workshop, has evolved into a 100+ page workbook that covers the topic of Boundaries from an array of potential angles.
Within those pages you’ll discover…
Different types of boundaries
The current status of your relationship with the word “No”
What it means to be “Nice” vs “Kind”
Where boundaries are currently lacking in your life
What conflict avoidant tendencies are currently getting in the way and, of course…
A wealth of scripts and contingencies to assist you in your own communication
You’ll probably also discover a few typos and/or grammatical errors and if/when you do that’s none of my business. (I’m a one-woman show and still cross-eyed post-edit)
This workbook is a direct result of the learning I lived, and provides the tools I wish I’d had when I first began honing the skill.
